Perpetua
Speculative Architecture
Unity
Created in October – December 2021
In collaboration with Elena Dagan
Awarded Top Project by Unity China
Inspired by housing insecurity in urban cities, Perpetua is a dystopian commentary on capitalist exploitation of the working class. The vertical city's lower class is forced to continuously move as their homes drift and eventually disappear. Their perpetual relocation generates energy that powers the lives of the upper class residing above them.
Perpetua was screened at the "Invisible Cities" exhibition, held on December 13, 2021 at PlanetOne in Shanghai's North Bund, sponsored by NYU Shanghai and Unity China. It was awarded by Unity as one of the top three projects exhibited at the showcase.
